⚡️xLabs Advances Fogo with Multi-Region RPC; Validator and Staking Launch Coming Soon

At xLabs, we are dedicated to strengthening blockchain ecosystems by deploying resilient infrastructure and testing next-generation protocols. Today, we're excited to share an update on our Fogo testnet and mainnet participation and outline the vision for supporting the network further.
Why Fogo?
Fogo is engineered to push the limits of performance in Layer-1 blockchains, combining Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) compatibility with architecture choices optimized for low latency, throughput, and real-time finance use cases.
- Firedancer-based validator client for speed and efficiency.
- Multi-local consensus to reduce latency across global markets.
- Curated validator set ensuring quality, decentralization, and operational standards.
This unique design positions Fogo as a next-generation Layer-1 capable of powering high-frequency DeFi and other demanding use cases.
Testnet and Mainnet Contributions
Since joining the Fogo testnet, xLabs has been operating six RPC nodes, two in each region, to help validate network behavior, improve decentralization of endpoints, and provide developers with reliable access to the chain.
Unlike validators, our nodes were unstaked and not part of consensus. They contributed to the performance, stability, and developer accessibility of the testnet environment.
This operational experience has given us valuable insights into Fogo's unique architecture and performance profile.
Testing the Fogo Client
We have also been testing the Fogo client, which is a fork of Frankendancer, the current version of Firedancer - a high-performance validator client initially built by the team at Jump Crypto.
Architected for high-frequency trading that demands both speed and stability, Fogo offers multi-local consensus with dynamic co-location that mirrors traditional trading colocation practices, minimizing physical and network delays. Combined with the fastest Solana-compatible client, Fogo ensures the chain always runs at the speed of the most performant client, delivering sub-millisecond execution and superior market quality.
Looking Ahead
While the Fogo team has not yet announced the timeline for public launch, we see strong potential in the network's design and are preparing for the next phase.
At mainnet launch, xLabs plans to:
- Deploy validators in three regions (US, Europe, and Asia) with a passive failover node for redundancy, to contribute to network security.
- Enable staking and provide a comprehensive staking guide, making it easy for delegators to participate.
- Expand infrastructure by scaling our RPC and validator operations as the network grows. Apply here if you seek a reliable validator partner for Fogo network.
We view staking as a cornerstone of community participation in Fogo, and we're excited to support it from day one of the public mainnet.
To make staking simple and accessible, we are preparing to release a dedicated web interface where delegators can easily stake their tokens, similar to existing xLabs SOL Staking.
Whether you are an experienced participant or new to staking, our goal is to make it easy for anyone to contribute to Fogo's growth through delegation.
Closing Thoughts
Our testnet operations have given us a front-row seat to Fogo's evolution. We're excited to help secure the network as it scales and to work with builders creating the next generation of decentralized applications.
Stay tuned for updates!
